Rimless Glasses
At Zenni, we make it fun to match your eyewear to your personality with our wide range of rimless frames and lens shapes. We’ve broken down the process into a few easy steps.
How to Order Rimless Glasses?
First, pick out the rimless frame that works best for you from our online selection of shapes and sizes.
Next, you’ll be prompted to select your lens shape from our more than twenty options. Not sure which will be the most flattering for your face? Check out our Virtual Try-On tool!
If you choose a custom lens shape, pay close attention to whether the new lens shape changes the overall size of the glasses. The size may change depending on the lens shape you choose.
Once you’ve picked your frame and lens shape, click Select Lenses to enter your prescription.
After entering your prescription, you can choose from our different lens options, such as tints and coatings.
Select one of our impact-resistant lenses, such as 1.53 Trivex or 1.59 Polycarbonate (recommended for those with prescriptions stronger than +/- 4.00 for thinner lenses), to ensure the highest quality and longevity of your glasses.
We do not recommend 1.50 Basic Index lenses for rimless frames as they are not compatible with rimless styles and are prone to breaking, cracking, or chipping.
Finalize your order and enjoy your lightweight, custom-made rimless glasses!
How to Clean Rimless Glasses
Cleaning your rimless eyeglasses is a straightforward process that preserves clear vision and the overall appearance of your eyewear. Follow our step-by-step guide to learn how:
Materials needed: eyeglass cleaner, microfiber cleaning cloth.
Steps:
Spray a small amount of eyeglass cleaner onto both sides of the lenses.
Gently wipe the lenses and frames with a microfiber cleaning cloth. This removes dirt and oils without scratching the lenses.
For hard-to-reach areas around the nose pads and hinges, you can gently slide the cloth through in one direction.
Ensure all traces of the cleaning solution are wiped off for clear, streak-free vision.
Avoid using tissues, paper towels, or clothing, as these materials can cause scratches.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I adjust the fit of my rimless eyeglasses?
Achieving a comfortable and secure fit is essential for optimal vision and comfort. Due to the nature of rimless glasses, it is always recommended to bring your glasses to an optician for any major adjustments or if you don’t feel confident making adjustments on your own. If your rimless eyeglasses feel too loose or tight, follow these steps to make adjustments:
Materials needed: warm water (for plastic parts), small screwdriver, soft cloth.
Steps:
Immerse the plastic temples in a bowl of warm water for about a minute. This makes them more pliable.
Gently adjust the temple arms at the bends to tighten or loosen behind the ear.
If your eyeglasses have nose pads, make slight adjustments for a comfortable position. Softly grip the outer edges of your glasses. Using your thumb and index finger to grasp either side of the nose pad, gently push outward or inward, depending on whether the fit is too tight or loose.
Tighten the screw at the hinge if applicable.
How often do I need to tighten rimless eyeglasses?
Ensuring that the screws on your rimless eyeglasses are properly tightened is crucial for maintaining a secure fit. Check for loose screws every few months and use an appropriate-sized screwdriver to tighten them gently if needed. If the bolts in the front become loose, you can contact customer service for a tightening kit.
What is the expected lifetime of rimless eyeglasses?
The longevity of rimless eyeglasses depends on factors such as usage, care, and the quality of lens materials (e.g., impact-resistant). Well-maintained, rimless eyeglasses can last for several years. Regular care, including cleaning, periodic screw checks, and occasional adjustments, can help prolong their lifespan.
