Installation
Installing your Zenni VR Lens Inserts is easy! Here are the steps:
Position: Place your Quest headset with the VR lenses facing you.
Align: Identify the "L" (Left) and "R" (Right) markings on your lens inserts and ensure they are upright.
Meta Quest 3: The (L) and (R) markings are located at the bottom of the lens inserts.
Meta Quest 3S/2: The (L) and (R) markings on the lens inserts should be at the top (1 o’clock for the Left lens and 11 o’clock for the Right lens).
Click: Gently push each lens insert onto the corresponding VR lens until you hear a click. This confirms the lenses are securely attached.

VR Lens Adjustments
Change the lens spacing on your headset until the visuals are clear and comfortable to see.
Meta Quest 3:
Locate the adjustment wheel on the bottom of the front of your headset.
Turn the wheel left or right until the center of each lens aligns with your pupils.
Meta Quest 3S/2:
Gently grab the outer part of one of the lenses.
Shift the lens left or right until the lenses click into the position that makes the picture clearest for you.
If you need more room for the lens inserts, you can use the depth adjustment buttons on Meta Quest 3 or install the glasses spacer accessory on Meta Quest 2 or Meta Quest 3S.
Depth Adjustment for Meta Quest 3:
With the headset off, you can use the depth adjustment buttons to adjust how far the lenses are from your face.
Gently tilt the headset arms upward.
Locate the eye-relief buttons next to the lenses inside the facial interface.
Hold down the button on one side while holding the edge of the interface, and slide the interface forward or backward to adjust the distance.
Repeat for the other side. Ensure the depth adjustment setting is the same on both sides.
Insert Eyeglass Spacer for Meta Quest 3S/2:
Gently remove the facial interface from your headset.
Take the glasses spacer that came with your headset, and attach it to your headset by pressing it into place where your facial interface just was.
Re-insert the facial interface back into place on top of the glasses spacer.
Removal
Position your headset with the lens inserts facing you. Putting the headset on a surface or in your lap may help.
Pull up and away on the lens inserts to remove them.
For Meta Quest 3: Pull up and away from the headset. A fingernail underneath may help.
For Meta Quest 3S/2: Pull up and away on the tab of the lens frame. The easiest way may be to put your palm down, place a few fingers underneath the tab, and pull up.
If needed, you can remove the headset's facial interface or adjust the lens spacing to give you more room.
Some force may be required.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is MR?
Mixed reality (MR) combines the real world with virtual elements to create an immersive experience where you can interact with both the physical environment and virtual objects overlaid on top of it. We offer lens inserts for a variety of Meta MR devices.
Which devices are the Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S lens inserts compatible with?
The Meta Quest 3S lens inserts fit both Meta Quest 3S and Meta Quest 2 headsets. Meta Quest 3 lens inserts are only compatible with the Meta Quest 3 headset.
Please note that Meta Quest 3 and 3S lens inserts are not interchangeable.
What is the prescription range for Zenni's VR lenses?
Our VR lenses for Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S have a prescription range as follows:
Sphere (SPH): -10.00 to 6.00
Cylinder (CYL): -6.00 to 6.00
Total Power: -10.00 to 6.00
Can I order prescription lens inserts if I wear bifocals or progressives?
Yes! Our custom prescription lenses are optimized for visual clarity in Meta MR/VR environments and use your distance vision prescription. If you wear progressives or bifocals, simply enter your distance Rx as usual and disregard any ADD values when ordering.
I use over-the-counter reading glasses - can I still get lens inserts?
Over-the-counter reading glasses are designed for near vision, which isn’t optimized for Meta MR/VR. If you don’t normally need distance vision correction, we recommend our non-prescription lens inserts instead.
Can I use my reading or computer glasses prescription for lens inserts?
Meta MR/VR lens inserts are designed using your distance vision prescription. Reading or computer glasses typically use a modified near-vision prescription, which isn’t suitable for Meta MR/VR. If you don’t normally wear glasses for distance, you may not need a prescription insert.
How do anti-fog lenses work?
Our anti-fog lens inserts come with a fog-resistant coating that prevents condensation from forming on the VR/MR headset lenses for a clear and immersive experience. Wipe your anti-fog lens inserts evenly with our special Anti-Fog Activator lens cloth to activate the coating—the anti-fog effect lasts 3-6 months, depending on use. To prolong lens lifespan and reinforce the anti-fog effect, regularly clean your lens inserts and use the activator cloth.
Note that the Anti-Fog Activator Lens Cloth will last 300 wipes before it needs replacement. This Anti-Fog cloth is only meant to be used on the Zenni lens inserts; do not use it directly on the Meta Quest headset’s lenses.
Do lens inserts affect image quality?
The lens inserts are designed to provide clear vision with improved comfort. Only with very high prescriptions is there a chance of minor distortions at the edges of the lenses, but this is extremely rare, and our lenses minimize this occurrence.
Do I need to remove the facial interface to install the lenses?
No, the lenses can be installed while the facial interface is already in place.
Can I order multiple sets of lenses for different people in my household?
Yes! Zenni VR lenses are removable, allowing multiple users to click in and enjoy their own personal prescription or non-prescription inserts.
Tips:
Label each carrying case to avoid mixing up prescriptions.
Remember to remove your prescription lenses before sharing the headset.
Which is better - wearing my regular prescription glasses in the headset or getting lens inserts?
Wearing glasses under the headset can be uncomfortable and cause a poor fit. Zenni's VR lens inserts are custom-made for Quest devices, providing superior comfort and the perfect fit for your VR experiences.
Why do my lenses have a slight tint?
Your Zenni VR lenses are designed with a slight yellow tint to reduce glare and increase contrast.
How do I clean and store my VR lenses?
Your VR lenses include a Zenni lens cloth and carrying case to keep them crystal clear and scratch-free.
Can I use HSA/FSA or vision insurance for the lens inserts?
In the United States, prescription lens inserts are generally FSA/HSA eligible as a qualified medical expense. You can pay with an HSA/FSA debit card at checkout, or pay with another method and then submit for reimbursement using the itemized HSA/FSA receipt available on your order tracking page once your order ships.
Many vision insurance plans allow reimbursement for prescription lens inserts, since they are a prescription optical product. Coverage and claim procedures vary by insurer and plan, so please check your individual policy or contact your vision insurance provider to confirm reimbursement details.
